What is an Automatic Circuit Breaker:

Automatic circuit breakers are circuit elements that protect electronic devices in electrical circuits by disconnecting the circuit in cases of overload and short circuit.

What Does an Automatic Circuit Breaker Do:

They are vital in protecting both the system and the existing location during short circuits and overload conditions in circuits connected to electronic devices. If a circuit breaker fails to operate or is absent, it can lead to significant damage due to the circuit not being interrupted during overload or short circuit situations.

Description:

Hyundai’s automatic circuit breakers meet all requirements with high safety, ease of use, and user-friendliness. Manufactured according to IEC 60698 and IEC 60947 standards, these circuit breakers differ from many competitors due to the variety of installable accessories. In addition to being rail-mounted, they can also achieve an IP40 protection class with an extra attachable box. Hyundai automatic circuit breakers are available in breaking capacities of 3kA, 6kA, 10kA, and 15kA, and can be produced for currents ranging from 0.1A to 125A, including B, C, D, and H curves. With an electrical/mechanical life of 10,000/20,000 operations, these products are continuously used in electrical distribution companies, residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. They also hold international testing certifications such as TÜV, KEMA, KERİ, CE, TSE, DNV, and BUREAU VERITAS.

How Automatic Circuit Breakers Disconnect the Circuit:

  1. Magnetic Tripping: When the current exceeds the rated current marked on the circuit breaker, a magnetic field is generated, causing the electromagnetic mechanism to open the two contacts that close the circuit, thus disconnecting it.
  2. Thermal Tripping: When the current marked on the circuit breaker flows, a bi-metallic strip within the breaker bends and disconnects the circuit.

Opening Times According to Class Curves:

  • Class B: 3-5 times rated current
  • Class C: 5-10 times rated current
  • Class D: 10-20 times rated current
